Pleasant walks that make you learn more about nature and culture
Termeno and surroundings offer the possibility to combine walking and learning facts about nature and local culture, as there are a series of theme trails providing various kind of information. These trails are ideal for family getaways as most of them are easily walkable.
The Cholera Trail starts at the Piazza del Municipio of Termeno and originally used to be a detour for people suffering from cholera in the 19th century travelling from Caldaro to Cortaccia. It is 3.5 km long and can be walked in about one hour.
The permanent IVV walking trail takes you across vineyards and forests, acorss trails and forested roads and is about 15 km long, overcoming 890 m of altitude difference.
The wine educational trail of Cortaccia, starting from the village centre, is about 1,5 km long and leads you across the vineyards of this area.
The nature trail of Termeno is a fabulous family walk providing great views on the Lake Caldaro. Along the trail panels provide information on the varied flora and fauna of this area as well as on geologic pecularities. On a lenght of 6 km it overcomes an altitude of 250 m, walking time is about 2.5 hours.
The wine trail of Terlano is completely dedicated to the local white asparagus wine, its history and its culture. The theme trail is about 3.5 km long and can be walked in about 1.5 hours. Often there are guided walks organised on this trail, followed by wine tastings.
The nature and wine educational trail Alta Via Gschleier informs you on 15 panels on the topics of wine and nature. Along the trail there are various benches where you can just sit back and enjoy the great surroundings.
The wein.weg Caldaro is a theme trail stretching across the village of Caldaro and his vineyards. It is part of the concept of the association wein.kaltern and makes you learn more about the landscape around Caldaro.
